The Xiaomi Mi Reader Pro is a successor to the Mi Reader Xiaomi launched last year. Speaking of the specifications of the e-reader, it has a 7.8-inch display with an 1872 x 1404-pixel resolution giving it a pixel density of 300PPI. The display also brings with it a 24-level adjustable brightness setting, letting the user customise the colour tone from cool to warm. This helps with an easier transition when reading from day to night.

The Mi Reader Pro has an anti-glare finish. It weighs a mere 251 grams, making it slightly heavier than the 10the gen Kindle (review) and 10th gen Kindel Paperwhite (review). The Mi Reader Pro is a mere 7mm thick.

Under the hood, the Mi Reader Pro is powered by a quad-core CPU. It has 2GB RAM and 32-GB storage. It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi along with Bluetooth 5.0. It runs on Android 8.1.

The entire package is powered by a 3200mAh battery that claims to offer 70 days standby time. It also supports USB-C charging.

The Mi Reader Pro also supports voice search. This helps in locating keywords and searching for content much easier and faster.

For content, the Mi Reader Pro supports Baidu cloud, WeChat Reading along with support for file formats like .txt, .epub, .pdf and Office documents.

While Xiaomi has released a host of products in India, it hasn’t released its e-reader. In India, the dominant e-reader is still the Kindle family of devices.

In other Xiaomi news, the company is getting ready to launch its QLED TV in India tomorrow, December 16. You can read what we know about the TV so far here.

One device that can not only double up as an e-reader but also do a lot more is a tablet. You can check out our review of the 2020 iPad Air here and also check out the details of the upcoming 2021 iPad here.
