Dell treats the Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas as its biggest platform to announce everything new that the company will do in the year. Each year, CES sees Dell announce a ton of new laptops, desktop and monitors, practically across every series in its portfolio, whether its consumer or enterprise. This year, however, the consumer end is seeing a fraction of the announcements, with new products being announced only in the Alienware portfolio.

Alienware m15 R4 and Alienware m17 R4

The mainstream Alienware gaming laptops, the m15 and m17 are now in their fourth revision, donning the R4 moniker. The laptops will be powered by either the Intel Core i7-10870H or the Intel Core i9-10980HK. The upgrade here is to the GPU and the display, with both laptops now coming with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 30-series cards on-board. The display on the two machines have also been upgraded. The Alienware m15 R4 now offers a choice between an FHD IPS panel with 3ms response time and 300Hz refresh rate and a 4K OLED panel with a refresh rate of 60Hz and 1ms response time. Both the displays meet the HDR500 standard. On the larger Alienware m14 R4, there are three options in total. The first is an FHD display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and G-Sync, while the second panel also sports the same resolution, but a much higher refresh rate of 300Hz. This panel is also G-Sync certified and has a response time of 5ms while the 144Hz panel offers a 7ms response time. The third option is a UHD model with 25ms response time and 60Hz refresh rate. While the 4K panel has a peak brightness of 500-nits, the fullHD panels have a peak brightness of just 300-nits. Both the Alienware m15 R4 and Alienware m17 R4 will be configurable with up to 32GB DDR4 memory and 2TB NVMe storage. If users choose to opt for RAID 0, the storage can be expanded up to 4TB.

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10

The Alienware Aurora gaming desktop is also getting a boost in its specs this CES. Dell has announced the Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 can now be configured all the way from Ryzen 3000-series all the way up to the latest AMD Ryzen 9 5950X if needed. Interestingly, Alienware is only offering a B550-chipset based motherboard and not an X-570 one. With respect to GPU options, Alienware is offering both AMD and Nvidia GPUs, with the RX 6800XT being the only option from the newest batch while the entire 30-series is up for grabs from Team Green. For those looking to completely spec-out the build, you can also add up to 128GB DDR4 memory to the system in dual channel configuration while storage options go all the way up to 2TB NVMe or 2TB NVMe+2TB HDD in a dual-storage configuration.

The Alienware m15 R4 and Alienware m17 R4 will both start at $2149.99 and will go on sale January 26 2021. The Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 will start at $1079.99 and is going to be available today itself. However, these machines have not yet received any India pricing or availability.
